The voices belong to a group of spirits who are trapped in the apartment, and they are desperate to be free.
Acting
The acting in Talk to Me is generally outstanding. Sophie Wilde gives a standout performance as Lily, and she is well-supported by the rest of the cast. Emily Mortimer is particularly good as Lily’s mother, who is struggling to come to terms with her daughter’s experiences.
Directing
Daniel Goldhaber does a solid job directing Talk to Me. He creates a sense of dread and suspense throughout the film, and he gets some effective scares out of the material. The movie is well-paced, and it never feels slow or boring.
Writing
The writing in Talk to Me is also generally good. The story is well-crafted, and the characters are well-developed. The movie explores some interesting themes, such as grief, guilt, and the power of the human spirit.

The visuals in Talk to Me are also very good. The apartment itself is a very creepy setting, and it is used to great effect throughout the film. The movie also has some well-crafted jump scares, and there are a few moments that will definitely make you jump out of your seat.
Scary Factor
Talk to Me is a horror movie, so it is obviously meant to be scary. However, the movie is not as frightening as some of the other films in the horror genre. There are a few effective scares, but the movie does not rely on jump scares to get its scares.
